Default Sweet idea for a go-cart

I was justsitting here when this funny idea popped in my head. We have this totalled 1994 Civic out back of my dads shop, part of the rear end is ripped off. But the nose is just fine, and the engine runs like a charm. Wouldn't it be awesome to build a big go-cart using the motor? I could custom weld a frame, and fabricate lots of things. What do you guys think? I was just thinking of it as a project I could work on in my spare time...I mean its a shame to see the motor sitting back there and rotting....

that would need a heavy frame to support the weight and I'm not sure it can even be called a go-kart but...

it sounds like fun

if you get the weight down to 1/2 of what a civic weighs!

I thought of that before, make good use of those 8v CX engines instead of just shitcanning them.

You should talk to gasoline fumes, he had an old Civic wagon that suffered from terminal rust syndrome. He went nuts and pretty much cut the entire body off of it, so it was kinda a go-kart.

There was some reason he couldn't pull it when he first cut it up, be he did eventually remove it. I don't think that cars exists anymore, though.

That car wasn't exactly made to go 90+ MPH either, so it's not a big deal.

And if you hit a bump wouldnt it collapse considering he removed all the structural support when he sliced off the roof?? Or did he add support underneath?
