win media player help please..
for a lot of .avi files, the first second or so of the video plays, then it just shows the same frame for the rest of the video. its like the video gets put on pause, but the audio keeps playing. is this a codec problem or something? what shall i do
when that happens do you switch windows to anything else?
I noticed that sometimes, depending on the video and how it was encoded, if I switch to another window while it's playing and then back again, it'll stop the video but the audio will keep going.
only way around that is to just not switch to another window and keep the focus on the video playing.

yea, those are the vids that I was refering to also.
hmm, could be that something is switching the focus for you, another application. Tough to say really.
Might want to make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and try to close anything that might be open that doesn't need to be.
