Windex and those industrial brown paper towels that really shouldn't be called towels because they don't have any absorbancy to them.

yeah...newspaper works great on glass. No streaks and no lint or white paper fuzzballs.
As for steel wool...I'd imagine using really really mild steel wool would be fine...my cousin had to buff the windows on his Passport to get the water spots off, worked out great.

steel wool gets all the crap off, just apply it gently. It's a trick a lot of detailers use. I've noticed newspapers doesn't leave streaks.
