Long day...lotsa grease
Went over to a buddies house to swap out the rear in my Jeep today.
Started into it measuring and making sure everything would work and it all looked good. So I went over and picked up the rims and tires I ordered (man these things filled the inside of the Waggy ) and headed back over to start work.
Got the D60 rear out and got ready to put the D44 in. Got it all lined up set it in place and started testing the connecting parts....during this process we found that the driveline was too short no problem really we can just bolt it on and hook up the front end and drive in 4high fwd until I get the new driveline....
wrong! the yokes on the front driveline ended up being the wrong size by maybe 1/8 of an inch talk about a pain in the ass.
So we took the D44 back out and put the D60 back into the Jeep so I could get home.
Well at least I have my new shopping list ready...front and rear driveline are the major ones as well as some new U-bolts and some minor miscellaneous parts to finish her off.

Can't use 4wd with that setup without seriously busting some shit up, so until I can find a fair priced D60 front or some gears for a good deal I will switch back to the 44 so I can use the machine in the meantime.
Besides 6 lug front and 8 lug rear really blows goats because I have to carry around 2 spares when I go wheeling which really becomes a pain in the ass.

i get ya, sounds like a good plan
my jeep finally goes into the shop tommorrow to fix what my stupidity broke.
i snapped the rear output shaft in the transfer case, 4Lo and ebrake, and slamming on the gas doesnt work well.
i usually will repair my own stuff, but opening up a transfer case is a little over my skill level.
dealer wont touch it under warranty, cuz of my lift ! :madfawk:
