Japanese....so are they better than Koreans, chinese, other asians?

 

like some of you here mentioned...
its all about the culture and how they were brought up...
given the same chance for everyone....i think we are pretty equal...physically..n mentally...
realistically...it takes time...at least several generations for the "weaker" race to catch up with the others...
ie...we asians aint physically big...but in time...sure..yeh...

 

it's the old nature versus nurture issue.

germans during wwII tried to prove scientifically that germans were the superior race. of course they then had to include japanese because they were allies. they even went as far as to say that germans and japanese were related somehow.

none of the "proof" was actual proof.

as for me I don't believe in one race being suprior over the other. you also can't say one race(more nationality than race) is better at one sports then another. as many pointed out that has more to do with cluture(nurture) then race.

people in the US do not care as much about soccer as in say brazil. but at the same token people in france care more about bicycling but guess who is going to win the tour de france for the 4th times in a row? an american????

 

I think that Asians [not just Japanese] are most intelligent. Asian-Americans have been getting the best average grades at my university for several years now.

 

Once again, I think it has to do with culture.

AS far as the Japanese, they seem to take care of themselves and their country, economy, etc better than most other countries in Asia. Not saying they are better, but come on now, who makes our beloved Honda.

 

I don' think you can say who supreme from a race. More like their environment.

Look at some of the best runners from Africa. Why are they such good runners? Cause they run everywhere, since they learned to walk. Obviously they will have long stamina and be capable of pushing the limits on running.

Also if I set out to be the best at anything, and give it my all. I can be the best at anything.

I say the best is the person with the most drive...

Race has nothing to do with anything....


As for the smartest people being asian. I disagree. Yes they are very smart, but not because they are asian. Cause of their environment. You have to look at their whole culture. Look at that japanese. Very strict, very cultured, so obviously they make a higher quality car (just an example). It has nothing to do with being asian...

It's about the environment around you, and the drive you have.

But for the car thing. The japanese do make a quality product, not doubt about it. I'll only buy a Japanes or maybe European made car.

But Ford has helluva a lot more cars to make. If Honda made cars in the amount Ford does, I gurantee you their quality would have to go down. If it didn't you'd def. pay more for a Honda then.

So many factors make up a certain situation. You can't narrow it down to one thing.

 

i agree with you that it depends on their culture. no doubt.

but lets bring up runners again. i understand that most long distance runners are africain and because that they live in a type of culture where their legs are used often, they become good runners.

but what about top speed runners like the 100m dash. they are owned by blacks, or africian americans. whom grew up in the US......

Not to beat a dead horse- but I agree its because of the enviroment.
Japanese people don't have bigger brains- they are just conditioned to learn. They usually have stricter parents who get them involved in a lot of stuff.
I remember all the piano competitions I've been to. The most trained players are ALWAYS asian.
These are 10 and 11 year olds who play complicated stuff...but then again their parents make them go to lessons 3 or 4 times a week....

 

Another note on Asians: Do you know the percentage of teen suicides in Japan? I'll give you a hint, it is higher than anyplace else in the world. It isn't unheard of for a father and son to kill themselves together if the son doesn't get into the university he wanted.

 

german technology is far superior to anyone elses. take WW2, they had less tanks on the field than the US and Russians, yet they offered good challenges, and were out numbered.
