question about a 5gal water jug

question about a 5gal water jug
in the attached pic, do i remove the green thing on the top, or do i leave that on and put it on the water dispenser upside-down??

depends which kind you have, some you can leave it on, and it will pop out the middle part, others you have to take off the cap

I've used the kind where you don't take it off. You just turn it upside down and shove it onto the stand which breaks the little seal on the inside.

have any of you guys used the kind of water bottle that has a built in fillter for tap water?? i was thinking about getting that kind because it seems like its a lot cheaper in the long run

We just have a water filter on our refridgerator...so the water comes out of there just fine.
