Personally, I think that acceptance is asking too much. Even today, with older prejudices like race and religion, all we can really expect is tolerance.

 

You know, just reading this makes me understand: people are always different and going to differentiate on opinions.

Now, I'm gay, and I'm just sick of having to say "no, I didn't choose it" or "Why the hell do you have a problem with it?" But I notice I'm going to have to do that my whole life. It hasn't soured me, I'm still good person. It just makes my life a little tougher. If you think I should burn, come pull me out of my house and burn me. I think anybody, devoute Christians included, will stop you when they find out what GOOD I have done for my community.

This unsensitive garbage people throw out "burning" or "killing" one group of people is really WEAK. I don't think you understand the burdence you put on people. I'm not crying you over Niagara Falls, I'm just telling you: being "bad" in the general public eye means I have to do a lot to make myself feel GOOD. Gosh, I almost killed myself a week ago and was put into Brylin Psychiatric so I wouldn't. I don't want this to happen to any other kid like me at my school, so I'm setting up a gay-straight alliance club at my school (My city is known for being closed-minded caucasion blue colored people, actually, Western NY is in general) but at least a group of people gay and straight can support them. Gosh knows in my 3 years I haven't had any. It's a difficult world when you feel very alone. I don't anymore, but:

I hope people that are obviously hateful will come to realize they're ignorance. And, if not, just learn to love everybody regardless of these things. Just live. Life is too short to worry about these things, and to fill your mind with hateful thoughts.

 

It's much better when you get to college, trust me. All the universities I've been to have had an LGBT(A) group of some form, and a lot of allies really do show up.

Unfortunately at some schools it's more of a forum to get together and gossip about who is fucking who this week, but that all depends on the political atmosphere of the campus.


I commend you on wanting to start a similar group at your school, but I'd suggest you find a name for it that doesn't explicitly say what it is. IE: just "alliance" A lot of straight guys will feel much more secure going to a group whose name doesn't make them feel like they'll be outnumbered. Strange, but true.

If you end up with a group of no guys, all the allies will be fag hags. And nobody likes fag hags.

 

HA, It's just being set up. I don't know if administration will let us (there are only a few of us who want the group). Oh well.

I've been called names... my car has been egged... I've been threatened.. stared at and even cornered once in NYC. My mother has just started coming around to the fact her daughter is gay after five years. Why anyone would think that the life of homosexuality is a choice is beyond me.
It's not easy. It's not even fun at times. Constantly having to look over my shoulder just because I want the basic human right to hold my girlfriend's hand? Having to block out the constat stares and snickers. Being told your going to hell. I guess it's good that I don't believe in hell. Watching someone's funeral.... and seeing people scream at some murdered boys parents that their son... the child they raised.. there little boy.. who they're never going to see again... ever.. is going to hell. Hearing about another suicide of some teenager... who would rather die.. then know their family and loved ones might possibly despise them. Hating yourself for so long.. because you realise that you are what soicety has brainwashed you to believe is wrong. Knowing people.. who don't even know you as a person.. a human being.. a soul... want you dead because of who you fall in love with. Homosexuals are human beings. They bleed, they laugh, they cry, they hook up cars, they watch the same movies, eat at the same resturants...etc. Who they choose to love.. or sleep with seems so small in comparison to everything else.
People who hate.. I feel sorry for them. They're denied the simple joy of peace and humanity. It takes so much energy to hate. I just don't get it.
The public persona of gays is so warped. They're not out to get your children.. they're not out to recruit. They're out to live life.. just like everyone does.. straight, gay, Jewisih, Catholic, Muslim, Bhuddist, black, white, Spanish, Asian. Diversity - there is no set mold anymore. That was destroyed long ago. It's a shame people still can't grasp change... and an even bigger shame.. that so many people are obsessed with hating what people do in the privacy of their own bedroom.

see i have no problem with them. you dont ever hear about them rapping, stealing or killing. they just sit around making things pretty. hell, there probably the best humans on the planet. and hell, lesbians are hot. the only problem is that we guys have no chance of being the meat in that sandwitch.

 

I have nothing against gays. I just don't like how they consider themselves minorities just because they take it IDB. Besides being a minority is not a choice.

readin thru this thread, lotz of ppl have the idea that most christians are out to murder all gays... uhmm...thatz not true, as i hope most of u know. thatz like seying, "all christians are gunna kill liars" or sumthin...iono.. just cuz some1 does something wrong or bad according to christianity doesnt mean christians hate that person.. the so called "christians" that hate gays like dey garbage or sum shit rnt really christian.. nd the "christians" that go around seyin, "u fags gunna go to hell!" piss me off more than skyline-haters. i'm christian, nd i've been taught that God loves even the gay ppl. most other christians have been taught that too....so dun get the wrong idea about christianity or sumthin.... derez alwayz been a lot of corruption in the church..
