Building my computer!
Well today was Round 1 at the Computer Show. I bought:
-Asus P4X8... motherboard
-P4 2.6GHz HT/800MHz FSB processor
-ATi 9600XT video card
-1GB DDR RAM
-Black case w/ clear window 2 chassis fans that light up
Tomorrow I'm going back for a 160GB+ hard drive that is Serial ATA. I forgot my damn current computer back at school, so I'm going to have to wait on transferring WindowsXP and all my files to the larger hard drive. I was thinking of buying the full XP program anyway, installing it onto the new hard drive and then just delete it off the old hard drive when I get back to school. What do you think?

you would think a computer show would have fair prices, but these vendors are UPPING the prices! arg...today i was charging everything but having to pay a 10% mark-up from the posted "cash" price. tomorrow i'm going to try and take cash with me. ooo yea, i also i'm going to try and get a 5.1 or 6.1 dolby system.
sounds like a good system. :goodjob:
Too bad your mobo only has the 865P chipset instead of the 865PE, though...better performance and built-in RAID 0 for the SATA channels.
As for XP, you're probably gonna have to reinstall it on the new drive anyway, since the hardware is different. Check around for an OEM version of XP Pro...$140 at Newegg.
