Acceleration question
So the other day I took my car out to get the dust off her and open her up a bit and something struck me as odd.
Why is it when entering a freeway I can top out at 100mph in 3rd (almost redline) yet on the track I am shifting much lower speeds and hitting the redline mark?
Has anyone else noticed this in their cars?

Now an onramp I get up to 100 and the onramp I did this on was less than a 1/4 mile

maybe the car is making more power because it's colder? I know I could feel a little something something when I drove the M coupe last week. it was around 48F :happysad:

onramps? really? in CA onramps are uphill. off ramps are downhill but I would never be accelerating at full throttle getting off the freeway.
