Well, in the book, it was written in such a way that you thought about half the main characters ended up dying...

And you didn't find out that the person who picked up Merry was actually Eowin until mid battle...

Meh, but it's a movie, and there's certain things that you can do in a book and not a movie...

uhhh...Event Horizon? I cant remember the last scene but I'm guessing "good" won...but still pretty devilish.
