I think it was kind of a one, two punch

Honda started fucking up their car designs and jacking up the prices to make them less appealing to the market that made them.
Tuning cars has become a cliche of itself and most who were into it have moved on to other things...mostly families and real life stuff.

yeah.... I agree with John. we just all got busy with life. I also had a much different job in 2004, pretty much get paid for doing jack. Now I actually have to work!
