Hopefully all the resistance will start to die down when the realize there isn't much for them to accomplish now. No return of Saddam to fight for. They will probably be hunted down by the Iraqi army, police, and remaining US forces.

Even if he didn't have anymore power, I think it's important because it's symbolic in a lot of ways to Americans (no matter their stance in the war), Iraqis, and the rest of the world. If he were found dead or killed, I think the effect would have been greatly reduced. There's a lot that can come from his capture. I just hope that things proceed properly.

It matters cause we have the potential to get info from this guy, get answers to as of yet, unanswered questions. It will also allow the millions of Iraqi people who feared him, the breathe a sigh of relief now that he is in custody and will no longer be able to harm them again. So far, according to Lt. Sanchez, he has been talkative and very cooperative with us, seeming as if he is relieved and accepting of his fate.

CNN is already trying to do that. Saying that, well yea ok... he's gone... but what about power and water and lawlessness...

a number of hours and they're already playing it down. Losers.
