Most security exploits of Windows happen through IE and Outlook. I would feel reasonably safe using say, Mozilla Firebird and Eudora.

They are also there because of the level of scripting that Microsoft uses that allows such deep and uncontrolled manipulation of the system through applications that shouldn't have that kind of access...



Regardless, my Mac has consistently worked better than any PC any of my friends have had, and it's chugging along well despite being 3 1/2 years old...
