uhh..they pretty much lure you into thr website and want you to put in your IP. An average joe would not know if his IP would be monitored or not. Therefore, RIAA entrapped him into commiting a crime (if he d/l music).

Why would i need to root my stuff anyways? I not allowed to say anything anymore? hmmm? freedom of speech...

that's not entrapment...well...not the way you put it. Entrapment by the RIAA would be if they set up a website where you could d/l music and THEN they monitored you and caught IPs off the webpage.
If you freely go on the website and input your IP, it's like going up to a cop and telling him you are about to do drugs....:squint:

Let me be a lil more clear about this....

Inputing your IP onto that website (assuming it's RIAA run) doesn't do anything. it's NOT entrapment. Like stated before, giving your IP to the RIAA is giving them a reason to watch you, much like telling the cop (RIAA) that you are doing drugs (d/l music).

Entrapment, in this case would have to be different. To lure a suspect (you) into performing the said illegal act (d/l music), the cop (RIAA) would have to set up a webpage or website where you could d/l music and then lure you into that website and then perform the said illegal act. THAT'S entrapment. I hope i made this somewhat clearer.....

I'm still not inputing my IP. Better safe than sorry...

Oh...BTW, i just remembered something. If, for some odd reason, you DO find out you are being supeonaed by the RIAA, you can't get out of it now. you have to follow the court process. I don't know what the law is about online supeona (or if there is such a thing) but once you find out, you HAVE to go. If you show up and say "I never got it...", DON"T DO THAT. The judge will turn to you and go, "well, how'd you know to be here at this time?" then you're f*cked......

once again....better safe than sorry

i know the RIAA has set up cracked versions of kazaa. When ppl d/l this cracked version of kazaa, the RIAA can then monitor all ppl that uses this version and i guess this works becuz all they hav to do is jus hide some bullshit in the agreement that no one ever reads. Watever.

IT's called SPYWARE.......and if RIAA wanted to supeona stuff from Kazaa, more than likely, Kazaa will give in. They don't want to be sued for "impeding" the legal process. I'm sure in the legal agreement there is some clause where it states that Kazaa is not responsible for what their users use the software for and will cooperate with authorities if need be.

that's how they are getting most people, is through the internet PROVIDERS. RIAA gets the IP off Kazaa, then goes straight to the internet providers to get your info. But i'm sure you all know about this alreadyl
