Man, the level of stereotype and ignorance is just absurdly annoying. It's just not funny because it's been repeated a million times. At least say something original for a laugh.
Oddly, while travelling I never hear these comments except when i'm in one country. Still I like that place a lot so I won't let a few yokels make it look bad.

When I used to answer phones at the bike shop, guys would call in from Northern Canada in the middle of winter just to have something to do. They wouldn't buy anything, and we wouldn't hang up. Everyone's bored so everyone wins.
