pics of the computer i just assembled
its for my mom. i just got it together tonite, and its amazingly quiet! it went together without a hitch, except when i went to install Win2K, it turned out to be in some eastern european language. luckily my roommate an a copy i could use.
the case is a Shuttle SK41G. its $180 and comes with the motherboard and power supply, and the mobo has onboard sound, LAN, 8 mb video, usb, firewire....
for the cpu i put in my old athlon 1700+. then i put in my old 20 gig ibm drive, and a new 52x cdrw. and since i had it sitting around, i put in my geforce 256, so it can play games too
tomorrow im delivering it to cleveland for my mom to use, and shes got a 17" LCD and flat panel speaker to hook it up to. should be a pretty slick setup.
i LOVE this computer. i wanna get one for myself, but i just have too much stuff in my computer to fit. it would be great for lan parties though. it weighs like 10 pounds and is the size of a football. plus it has headphone and usb hookups on the front, which i think is pretty convenient.
