Default drove my friends audi 1.8t

drove my roomies audi for teh first time since i've had my gsr and the clutch and shifting really bugs me....anyone else notice this

shifting in something other than your own for the first time is usually awkward and different. I bet if you did it for a long time you'd get used to it.

nah audi/vw shift throws suck donkey balls


the clutch is fine but the throws, specially 1st to 2nd :thumbdown:

I think the clutch throw is too long as well as the shifter being blech. Although having gotten accustomed to my dad's TT it doesn't annoy me as much as when I had my GSR.

TT is better :chuckles: maybe the shorter knob? :dunno:


and I guess it's preference thing on the clutch travel. I always hated short clutch travel. harder to modulate with my weak leg

i can see what you guys are saying about VW shifters, but i like em personally. its very easy to drive a VW smoothly, its just that the shifters dont like to be rushed. theyre just so easy to drive, whereas my gsr was a bit more involving. it took me a good few weeks to learn to drive the gsr smoothly, and even then it took some effort. the VW drives smoothly all by itself it seems.
