So I hear they're remaking Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Default So I hear they're remaking Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Apparently, the author of the book didn't like the original on at all (I LOVED it!)...and he didn't want to give them the rights to do a remake.
Then he found out the Tim Burton was going to be directing.
One guess who's gonna play Wonka. :chuckles:

Tim Burton's twist may be very interesting on that.

Hmmmm... Wonka.... Johnny Depp, maybe?

I think that would be ...Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.
Even though I totally love the original movie, I'm gonna have to watch this one just to see what these two are gonna do with this story.

idk, I loved the original. I think the new one will be filled with too many crazy new things that they will just add to it. Can't they leave a good thing alone :happysad: hnoes:

I thought the same at first...but hey, since the author of the story didn't like it, I figure let them make another...we still have the original one to enjoy. Plus I think it's gonna be really interesting to see what Burton does...he hasn't decided yet if he's gonna keep the original songs or not. :chuckles:

I have enough confidence in Burton that he'd do a good job. True.. he's had some movies that didn't sit well with the criticts... but I've never seen a Burton movie I personally didn't enjoy.

how can he think the original sucked
Probably just thought it didn't do his book justice...not that he thought it was just a bad movie.
