Default What is this world coming to...

At the moment I go to an automotive school so naturally all the kids there have love for the whole street racing thing but sometimes it bothers me when im in class and I hear some of the strangest things come out of people's mouths....such as..

"Oh I'm gonna put this Cold air intake on my RSX and it's gonna give me 20-30 horsepower..."
"Oh my RSX has so much torque that if i drive it pass 4,000 rpm in the rain my tires will spin"
"My RSX ( regular ) with headers ( yes snoopy he said it plural....) intake and exhaust will break 12's"

Not to mention the fact that NO ONE in the school recognizes or has ever used the word rice until one day I overheard some kid say he wanted a skyline taillight conversion on his civic. This other guy said that's "RICE" and instead he should get a s2000 taillight conversion....and im just thinking "how's that any less ricey?"

Ok ok not only that..there is a Ford Escort GT and the driver talks SOOO much trash about how his goal is to beat every honda in that parking lot and eventually everycar there in an all out top end race.... pretty strange when i looked at his speedometer and it stops at 80...

It's just strange because it's maybe the really fast cars... Supras, WRX's, F-bodies, a GSX, and a few civics that really keep it clean and non-ricey.

Sorry if it sounds like bitching but i just had to vent it out....sometimes i hate my school....

20-30 hp seperated into 1-2hp at 10-15 different rpm levels... :chuckles: which in that case it'd be hundreds lol

yeah, i hear ya, kids in my school are the same way.... and if i can comment...

the escort gt thing, i drive an lx, and i'm a regular at the escort boards, there's 5-6 guys dropping jspec turbo engines, and bp-t's and what not...even one guy w/ a kzle (v6) engine....so it's not impossible, just really expensive...
thus why i bought my integra.........
don't get me wrong i love the escort...nothing like a dropped escort w/ rims, but still doesn't hold up the power like most hondas put out stock....

the one guy has 545hp to the wheels, another w/ just above 300 hp.....and mine at 120......hmmmm..interesting...

just listen to their crap, and start commenting how your running turbo or whatever, and you'll smoke them, and yeah just shut them up.....

---also, i've had my escort topped completely out....the speedo stops at 85, and mine was all the way back around......granted it took forever and a day, but it's fun...only did it 2, once when running for a cop, and once when my g/f challeneged me to get to the pa border from cleveland in under an 1hr....rest assured it took me 40 mins

First of all, a cold air intake does give the RSX-S a good bit of power....if you get a Hondata and get some tuning done, and you already have header and exhaust....20-30hp gain is no impossible.
Second, when my GS-R had the crappy stock Michelins, it would spin tires in the rain when I hit VTEC...I'm sure it's possible in the RSX too.
As far as it hitting 12s with exhaust and headers...:bs:
