Default Digital Camera Help!

I want to pick up a Digital Camera for x-mas. Thanks to help of friends I've narrowed it down to two choices. Give me your opinions on either so I can decide which to buy. Both are 3.2 megapixels.

Sony P72

Canon A70

Both are good. I'd get the A70 because I'm a bit of a Canon junkie and the P72 looks stupid. Yeah, they are really that close of a comparison that those are my deciding factors.

If i were you i'd go with the canon, u can use normal AA batteries, and its a bit smaller and lighter, other then that they are the same thing spec wise, but i'd trust a canon better then a sony.

best buy comparison

it's not necessarily a good thing to use regular batteries. if you use the flash, the battery dies very quickly.

when compared to Li-ions.

but I would choose Canon between the two as well.

Am I right in guessing the Canon can record video on it? If so how much (how long)?

the p72 is more of a point and shoot. there are no manual adjustments for the shutter and f-stops. you only can adjust white balance. and i really really dont like the body of the cheaper sony cameras. they dont fit hands too well.

the a70 is a way better camera. it offers more adjustments. and the body fits my hand pretty good.

out of the two...a70.

:werd: Except I like the body of the Sony cameras better. You also pay almost $55 (USD) more for the Canon but I would go with it if you like the availability of manual functions. I, on the other hand, have an SLR if I wanna take "real" pictures.
