I really hope he reconsiders the law to set up a system where we can monitor the undocumented immigrant drivers... (Especially when you consider the number of people that drive without proper licenses anyways...)

I believe that, especially in southern california which has NO effective mass transit, cars are a necessity to modern living...

so? they can legally drive in California, but they can't legally live in California? Its the most back asswords law ever.

"Hey, you can't live here legally, but since you are, lets give you a license to drive here!"

why, because they come and steal work from americans? But I guess if its "degrading" work that americans wont do...why not just pay illegals under the table and make an even bigger profit

Because we're happy to accept undocumented immigrants as workers, especially for the jobs that most american citizens would not even consider, but within that frame of reference, they are economic capital, nothing more...

We at all costs want to avoid humanizing the objects we use... that's why you don't treat animals that you prepare as food like pets... the same analogy can be applied to undocumented immigrants... People have no problem using these people for labor because they're cheap, and want to avoid giving them acknowledgment of their humanity, because it then makes them harder to exploit...

Though, I do think undocumented immigration is a problem here in CA, but the focus shouldn't lie in the influx of people crossing the border, but WHY they're crossing the border...
