Why does the car that is directly behind me think that just because I did a full stop at the intersection means that they don't have to when they get to the line?

I usually use an intersection as a way to get tailgaters off my ass be leaving some distance between me and the car behind me, but when they don't do full stops, it just bothers me... So I drive slower than I normally would to irritate them...
