Default electic impact wretch: yes or no?

i saw an electric impact wrnech at checker auto for 49.99. not that i would get that particular one, but it gave me the idea of buying myself one. i always hear that air tools are the best blah blah blah, but i dont really want to have an air compressor if i'm not going to use it that much.

do electric wrenches work as good as air powered counterparts work?

I saw one at Walmart for $20. I doubt they work good as impact wrenches. Air is your best friend.

not going to use an air compressor:eh:

What man w/ an air compressor w/in his own possesion would now use it.

I wish I had an air compressor, I'd replace stuff that was brand new just to use my air tools

Electric is good enough to do suspension jobs. :dunno:

well, i really wouldnt use an air compressor that much. i was planning on buying an aircomp and some nice spraying guns, but i squashed that idea because instead of painting my current car, i'll get a new one this summer. i was going to get a air wrench to go along with it, but not as my main purpose for the aircomp.

suspension and brakes and some minor engine work would be the planned use for it.

Most electrics crap out about 200-240 ft/lbs, compared to a decent 1/2" air gun doing about 600. I take the money on the impact gun and invest in some good quality 1/2" sockets, wrench and big breaker bar. Probably get a lot more use out of them.

I think Electric impacts are bs. Most impact guns can do the power they are rated at but don't. I've had air guns rated at 250 that couldn't take off a lugnut. With air tools you get what you pay for. I would assume an electric impact under $250 is going to be a piece of shit.

It's true. I was just browsing the air tools at Lowes and was then looking at drills and I asked a guy if the electric impact guns are good for anything, and he basically told me they're a waste of money.

Air tools are the only way.
