werd, werd...i dont have raised floor, but i dont store my servers below 24" the battery is the lowest thing on the rack and its always +9" or more.

On a similar note I think it's hilarious that the NRPs and the Cisco switch are the closest items to the floor, while the patch panels are nice n' high. :chuckles:



How many patch panels you think you could buy for the cost of a 6509?

i liek the patch panels at the top anyway, convenience whise.

a. its easier to hide cables in the ceiling.

b. i never have to mess with them, so i keep them high.

i went into our new server room at work last week.

4 aircon units as big as a full size car. at least 3 are running at any given time. I had to fix this one external raid unit with 2TB of storage on that single unit. We have about 20 racks full of them
