Today I was about to order Comptech i/e/h (Xmas gift for myself) and I asked my friends for their opinion, but they said Comptech sucks because they are American. They also think my Neuspeed bars are junk/cheap because it's 'Neuspeed' and associated with VWs.

Can't blame them a little there with the VW bit, :chuckles: but still....geez, it's like they expect me to have Cusco bars. Cusco is nice and all, but I can't rationalize paying $300 cdn for a metal stick that works just a tad better, if even at all, then my Neuspeed.

It sort of sucks at times having uber JDM friends who CAN justify paying $4000 for Amuse titanium exhausts, $4000 Zeals..etc and look down at all the parts that are not JDM.

Anyways i'm hoping I can shut them up if the Comptech parts can really dyno 196-200 at the wheels whereas their JDM mods that cost 10X as much may only give them 10-15. :fawk:

 

they are all good brands and are all race proven.

 

But are they really worth $$$$ more?

well...thats where common sense and $$$ comes to play. cold air intakes...are...cold air intakes. there's no really big difference in function.


if you are considering the design of the Mugen...look into the Comptech intake/icebox combo. It functions the same way.

 

I'm willing to splurge on some JDM parts if they really do the job better than their American competitors or if nothing of the sort is made in this country. I'm all about the cost/benefit ratio.

 

Function > Form

 

I have Comptech H/E...I'm not JDM.




and Neuspeed is good...they make the best short shifter for the Integra, IMO.
