Default One computer on a network hogging all the bandwidth.

Ok, I have 2 computers set up on my home network via a hub. Both sharing the same cable internet connection. The problem is that one machine hogs all the badnwidth and the other machine lasgs like crazy, sometimes to the point of getting completely disconnected. Is there some solution to this?

One computer was playing Everquest, the other was just browsing the web and managed to disconnect the Everquest player. In the end I would really like to have both computers able to play Everquest at the same time.

Ok, I realise that buying a Switch would be a solution, but that is expensive. Is there any way I could perhaps control the bandwidth via software?

4 port switch = like $50

and software solution would require more money then you think so go with a switch
