"Good Techno"? Isn't that an oxymoron?

Don't get your panties in a wad over my comment I always say that...

I actually listen to a good amount of techno and I like it but I still don't think its all that good as far as a music form goes.

the thing is...lots of people put all electronic music under the techno category.

For instance, I like techno and trance and some progressive house. However, I HATE drum & bass.

Please... say Electronica... Techno refers to a specific genre of dance music that's a very specific sound. What you listed was Trance mostly, and if that's what you like, check out anything with the following names: Paul Oakenfold, Timo Maas, and DJ Tiësto.

House: DJ Dan is a good bet. So is Dave Angel (More techy/detroit) and Hardfloor (awesome tech house)

Happy Hardcore: The Happy2Bhardcore CD sets are like a standard for this scene. Cloudskipper and DJ Tronic kick some ass too...

Techno/Electro: Westbam and Takkyu Ishino are the shit. Benny Benassi and Dirty Vegas are also good

Drum n Bass: Good artists are Aphrodite, ak1200, and Dieselboy

That being said, I have an awesome hour long mix from the Loveparade 2000 with Carl Cox, Westbam, and Paul van Dyk... rawkin set that flows from progressive to electro to techy trance... excellent .mp3 ... Westbam really tears it up too!

Other notables:

DJ Tiesto - almost anything he creates
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes
Paul van Dyk - We Are Alive, For An Angel, Forbidden Fruit, etc.
Armin van Buren - has some great songs and albums

Just get back to me...I have a 8+GB colllection of techno/trance.
