Default Why I like touring car races

The cars are based on factory cars, it gives me a good feeling knowing that what the teams learn on the track is used to make the production cars better. The drivers race with their hearts and not with the pay check, in the US the winner gets less than $10k in Speed World Challenge which is the #1 touring car event in the US. They race each lap like its the last, I was watching a BTCC race they were bumping and sliding past each other every lap.

Back to watching the GT cars, European touring cars are next from the Czech republic.

That Honda pass in the first BTCC race at Brands Hatch on the final lap was so dirty. But hey you gotta do what you gotta do.

World Challenge drivers are paid salaries by their teams--it's not like they're living off whatever purses they win.

Yes, but they also don't get huge checks like Nascar drivers do.

i probably would have taken that chance also though, in TC things are so even you gotta jump on mistakes...also its early in the year for them and the guys seemed cool about it

Watch "Legends of Motorsport" on Speedchannel. I love it, some of the races that they do highlights on are from when I was a kid. Watching the cars run that anyone could buy is the best part. Maybe that's why I like WRC also, but that reminds of the roads my friends and I used to chase one another down. Our roads though were barely that, two tracks through the trees and we would be doing anywhere up to about 70mph on them.

My dad used to do that shit to, his parents were always outta town and him and his friends would chase each other. Except where he grew up, every road was either gravel, or went through a forest/feild.

Ahh the good old days
