I was hoping to, but things get soooooo dragged out when I made a comment that I THINK the Bible is wrong. Sorry for stating an opinion.

because people feel the need to push their ideas on others, and when people defend something that someone else doesn't beleive, it just creates tension, hostility, and eventually leads to hatred. A prime example being the middle east.

too bad your previous comments, you state as "facts" not "opinions".

exactly. and it applies both ways... to those who believe in religion and those who dont.

I stated the "fact" that the religions are based from the same seed.

That's what wrong with the church these days. Their views on life and morality are seriously outdated. You want to read a book that answers some questions of how we got here...and what are we...read this. http://www.wwnorton.com/catalog/fall03/005858.htm

Or anything from Steven Hawking. It's important to keep an open mind on a subject as serious as this. Regardless of whether you side with science or religion:thumbup:

of course religious people would say that, just like muslims take the koran to be just as true. The point is who are you and what makes one religion more correct than the next. There is no proof and I dont think I'd like to believe in a religion who's church kept man in the dark ages thru fear and control. The Church is just controlled thought without scientific reasoning. Religion is a good idea, but to build a structure around it and set rules is ludricris. Man obviously proved his lack of divinity so who am I to do what another man says I have to do for "salvation"? Thats just my 2 cents.

EDIT:

Besides, its all about control. It's like the government. Government doesnt want you to say this because its "against the law" or "top secret". Government wants to control information and control language because that's how you control thought. The same goes for religion. Religion is nothing but mind control - they want to control your mind, control your thought. They tell you things you shouldnt say and do because they're "sins". And besides telling you things you shouldn't say, they tell you things you SHOULD say. "Heres something you can say after you eat, heres something you should say before you go to bed. Heres something you say on the 4th Sunday in April after the first full moon in spring at 4o'clock when the bells ring."

THANK YOU GEORGE CARLIN.

It's not the understanding of the religion. It's the understanding of the zealous idiots that follow it to a point where you go to declare war over it, or harass people to the point they want to kill you. Most of the religions you stated are all stemmed from the same people - The Hebrews. You dont believe me? Do some research. But like I said, it's not the understanding of the rules/practices/beliefs of each religion, its the closemindedness of the fanatics that follow them.
the only thing you say you think something is something is when you state you dont think you'd like to believe in a blahblahblah. all the rest, you state specifically that one thing IS blahblahblah. hence, you are making a statement that it is true.

if you say so.

i never try to push my beliefs on to other people. and i respect what other people think and believe. but beliefs and facts are 2 very different things. facts are facts no matter who believes them. you want me to prove that the bible is 100% accurate and true? i can't. but i don't have to. i have faith in it and in the God it talks about. my believing in it, or not believing in it doesn't make it any more or less true. believe what you want.
