I've had my CF hood for 2 years and it hasn't budged. I think the difference lies in the fact that on an EF the metal latch is attached to the hood and the thing it clicks into is on the car. I noticed on the 92+ Civic that the latch is on the car and all that is on the hood is a small weak looking "ring." So I guess that ring has more of a chance of breaking.

 

If you do get pins get the old fashion kind like muscle cars had where its a hitch pin going through a stake. The "Import" kind which is a bulky sliding mechanism looks like ass.

 

Why are you getting rid of the hood and wheels?

being in an accident that fuks up your frame will make the hood look like that.
