Yeah, she definitely was. She didn't even know why we were there when I first got there. We took her for a psych work up and they said she was in stages of Altzheimers.

Basically, we let the old woman spend the night in the hospital (instead of on a hard bench in our lock-up) and she was going to be released from the hospital into police custody this morning. From there, she'd see the judge, and based on the doctor's diagnosis, she'd probably be put into a home or some place that could take care of her. Her caretaker didn't want to see her put in jail, but just in a place that would meet her needs. Thats pretty much all of any of us wanted. I felt horrible locking her up, but we had to, and hopefully that will be what she finally needs to get the help that she requires.
