Default International DVD's

Has anyone had any experience w/ International DVD's? They are region 1 but are they still sthe same as if they were produced in the US? Here is an example:

that says region 0. players in the usa will only play region 1 discs, unless you get a player that doesn't check the region (i don't remember any though).

This seems to be a chinese bootleg.
Most part of the time, the content is mediocre, ripped from the original version and transfered on DVD5 format.

You lose quality.

Usually, you wan to look at the region coding when buying foreign dvds, and at the format which has to be ntsc unless you have a dvd player that can convert pal to ntsc.
