Default help ... car emergency

My car sits in a parking lot from Monday - Friday and is started and driven maybe once between those days (on the weekends I put almost 300 miles on it)

I started the car tonight and the car's initial RPM's started out at 2K ... which is pretty high. Then the car began to rev itself between 1,200 and 1,800 repeatedly. it was like someone was stepping on the gas pedal and releasing constantly. I thought that the cold weather was making this happen, so I just let the car idle strangely for almost 4 min while the temperature needle got off of “C”. The entire time, the car would just repeat rev’ing.

I tried to rest the ecu to see if that would help … nothing.

Any ideas?

vacuum leak:dunno:

did the exhaust smell? try reading the plugs.

i used to have a slight idle fluctuation on my old sentra se-r, and regrounding the maf sensor did the trick.

its tough to say what your prob is tho.

it was extremely hard to check the exhaust. i tried to smell for something strange, but i couldn't tell if it was just cold exhaust or the shakey throtle doing it.

this sucks. i'm out at school and i don't have the proper tools to to start doing a complete check over.

my friends prelude does that. but it have always done that since it got off the lot. i told him to ask honda about it and they said it was the way the car warmed itself up  once its warm, it stops the reving...

PCV valve. Common problem in Honda's it seems. If not it's a vacuum leak.

what are the physical signs of a worn PCV valve? where is the valve located and is it something i could do myself in a parking lot?
