guitar players.. barre chords

Default guitar players.. barre chords

so.. ive been playing for a week, and i can play the basic chords, scales, etc.. fingers are getting calloused and whatnot.. but, the barre chords are giving me a lot of trouble :happysad: any tips on getting my fingers to work?

I would recommend not trying barre chords until you learn regular chords.

how so? i can play G, C, D, A, E, Em, Am, Dm.. chords

just keep at it....your doing good for only practicing a week.....bar chords require a pretty strong hand specially if you play a whole song in bar chords(not powerchords, which are easy)....also, bar chords are easier to hit if the action is the lowest it can go on the guitar w/o it buzzing crazy......are u playing electric or acoustic?

You need to develop better callouses, I didn't play or try to play bar chords until about 3 months into it. When you start play an F and keep playing until your index finger has a one long callous on the side.

.. i only have callouses on the tips it feels like i have wax on the ends of my fingers

try pushing down your pointer finger with your middle finger for more pressure...it just takes hand stregthening and practice

Mang just try it, and if you don't get it right keep practicing.

I learned bar chords on my first day :dunno: I couldn't get all the strings down the first try, but just kept practicing. My hands are pretty small too.
