Wheat bread, brown rice, chicken, turkey, lots of veggie It's all about calories in and calories out. YOu can't cut and bulk at the same time, I just learned that recently. So I went on my first ever cut and it was fairly successful.
I've learned that calories are calories, proteins are proteins, fats are fats, and carbs are carbs when it comes to body composition. There are no bad fats and good fats. In terms of having a healthy heart and what not, that's a different story. You can eat Mcdonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, etc etc everyday if you choose to and still get cut. As long as you stay within your calories and hit your macros. Just that the problem with eating those type of foods is that it's calorie dense and won't keep you satiated as compared to like "healthier foods" You will max out your calories in that meal or two and be hungry for the rest of the day.
Learn about calories and macros and it's not that hard to get cut if you stick to the plan.
