Chevy Volt...hmmmm (now with Bags of milk)
On another forum i made a thread about how all 3 cars of mine have a combined mileage of over 500k. someone suggested I lease a chevy volt. i never gave it much thought but it makes sense. thoughts?
Pros:
-i spend $70 a week on gas on my work commute alone. $70 x 4 weeks in a month = $280/mo. lease rates for volts are like $239/mo.
-there are 240 volt plug-in parking spaces here at work, as well as 120v extension cords for golf carts i can plug into. 25 mile commute each way and I wont even have to dip into the gasoline.
-brand new car with warranty etc.
Cons:
-its slow
-its smaller than the G35
-its a lease, so i cant drive unlimited miles
-I'd be selling the G35, so no "luxury" factor of having a volt
anything else?

The buttonless center console is a little weird. And it is a little small inside compared to your G. Otherwise, its decent.
Since the lease rates are so tempting, I say go for it if don't mind how it drives and the math pens out.
Also, I *think* you can still get solo HOV lane stickers. But with the Volt, only specific VIN groups qualify. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/carpool/carpool.htm

it's my D in a B
I think it's an awesome concept as long as it doesn't suck to drive. I've never driven one or been in one. But if other manufacturers adopt the electric with gas backup concept, I would definitely get one down the road.
