Base price of the GTI 1.8T is $19,250 and the WRX is $24,495.

Oh, i was just at the Subaru dealer yesterday and they have a bunch of new WRXs for $23k. I didn't know how much GTIs are so I did a quick Autotrader search and most came up at about 22k, cheapest one was $20k. If your talking used then they go down to who knows how low. I've seen WRXs for $14k.

That's about what I've seen here. Pretty good car for a pretty good price IMO.

$20K CAD = $15.1k USD and 90K KM = 55K miles for the people who don't feel like doing the conversions.

i really like the newer GTIs,..and the 20th anniversary,...and the R32 is gonna be pretty badass,..i was really looking to getting a GTI awhile back but decided against it,...id rock one though

another car i would look at is the SRT-4 ,..i know i know "its jsut a neon" ,..fawk that,..its just a neon that would own most honda's and VWs on the road these days,..i really want to see how the SRT-4 is in about a year,..like the value and what not,..i respect that car alot for the power it has for that kinda price tag

evolution: I could never own an ITR unless it was garaged and never driven. They get jacked way too much in the GTA.

:werd: I haven't driven one yet, but I've decided it's a quite a nice looking car for the buck, and if it hauls like everyone preaches... it's a def winner.

I just wouldn't trade my teg in any time soon.

And if I were you, I'd much rather look at the MSP or the SRT-4 than a 1.8T GTI
