Yeah, the Lightning based on the old F-150 body style is carrying over for the '04 model year. Your buddy's could also be an '03 depending on when he bought it. There's really not much of a change from '03 to '04.

The '05 is probably gonna have a whole lot more grunt to compete with the Dodge Ram SRT-10 which comes with the powertrain and brakes of a Viper.

 

I was under the impression that this 04 would compete with the SRT-10.

Something around ~450hp.

I know all to well what you are talking about my dad has a 01 Silver adn man that turck is nuts as of now the mods include:

Airforce intake
Bassani headers (shortys)
Magnaflow exhaust
Drive shaft loop
JLP traction bars
JLP Flip chip with 91 octane street program and 100 octane race program
JLP 4lb lower blower pulley (should increase the boost to 12psi)
