So since you guys are usually (fairly) open minded.

Bomber in your town, Cops/Mil lock it down and are going door to door doing searches. Do you let them search your home?

Come back with a warrant and you are more than welcome to search.
Knock on my door as a basic welfare check and it is fine with me (which is what was being done btw)
Demand to search without a warrant and we go to court over 4th amendment violations, don't give a fuck what the reason is.

my first instinct is what Nightshade said. And I would totally understand anybody taking that stance. I would probably let them search though...if they asked. Not if they demanded. I dunno.
The guy could be holding somebody hostage in another room and sending somebody to the door to say everything is ok. :dunno:

4th amendment states: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized

Searching for the bomber was there "justified reason" for the police searches. I heard cases the police were very civil, I have heard cases they were not.

i don't know how i would feel either. i hear they were out in a couple minutes. i don't want police searching my house even though i have nothing to hide.

Nope, I don't need someone to find a reason to find me suspicious because of what they might find/see in my home. Warrant? Sure thing.... Otherwise no.

That is a very slippery slope to tread just like the denail of his Miranda rights because he has been deemed an "Enemy Combatant" which they are using to trump his naturalized citizen status. What is to say that you or I don't get picked up for something or suspected of something and our rights don't get suspended under the same principal? After all the standard has been set with this situation and nobody said word one against it simply because he was a bad man who did bad things...but it is the slope we tread when we choose to be silent.

BTW the precedent has been set, this is going on today in Oakland using the same methods as was used in Boston

That happens all the time here...but not without warrants.
