first time i passed at 25 mph but failed cuz at 15 mph i did not pass Hydro Carbon (HC), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen Oxide (NO)...i hope i got those right

so then i get new plugs, wires, cat. convertor and thats it
i pass everything at 15 and 25 mph although my HC@15mph was 89 and 90 is max h:

but the first time it was really busy and the guys were just like get it fixed and retest..
so i go to a newer place, same ownership, that is closer to my house
they smog my car....then they freaking do a crazy visual...
complained about my mounting of my HID's...asked where i got my mods from and who installed...checked my timing...etc

so then they come in and say that passed all my emissions and all my carb eo's are right.......................... but i failed visual!!!!!!

why you ask
1) Crimped PCV breather hose/ not rated for PCV....pretty much meant the hose is not oem, get one that says PCV on it, and don't clamp it as tight
2)Timing at 12 degrees, stock is 16......i thought i was @ 16 TDC but i guess i should have checked...they said i need to be within +/- 2 degrees of stock (16)

so i gotta f*cking smog again!!! mother bitches!!! stupid asses couldnt just let me slide with a freaking hose and timing 2 degrees off

anyone know how i can lower my HC amounts??
and yes i did the usual run my car for 30 minutes hard before testing, oil change, injector cleaner run before going in

 

Ha. All I have to do is have a tube hooked to my exhaust, idle the car for about 10 seconds and than the guy tells me I pass since the standards are high so pickups and crap can pass also. There is no visual here either.

 

try this. when your gas tank is almost empty (1/4 left) add 3 bottles of Heet gasline antifreeze and a bottle of fuel injector cleaner (optional). Drive hard on the freeway for at least 20 minutes with frequent wide open throttle in 2nd and 3rd (if you WOT in 4th you'll be speeding ). Make sure to hold it above 4000 rpm constantly for a few minutes at a time to get it really hot and to breakup carbon deposits and get them flushed. go immediately to the test station. pick a short line dont let your car cool down at all.

the high alcohol content in the gasline antifreeze will make your car run hotter. but that is what you want. but also don't do this for a prolonged period of time.

 

I cant believe all the crap you guys have to go through.

In NH all they do is check your tires, brakes and exhaust..

Hey Airon I failed also the reason that your HC's are so high on the 15mph test is cause the car is running lean I failed the 15 but passed the 25 so i have to try and find a way to richin that bitch up before nov 18 sucks for us in Cali
