Default Basic Mixing Software for Mac

I want to make a mixtape for my wife for our anniversary. I have the songs laid out, but the MP3s have fade outs and gaps between tracks. I would like to make the songs one long, continuous track. Is there any basic mixing software that is free/cheap and easy software for the Mac I can use to do this?

I'm not familiar with Mac applications, but can help if you don't have a solution.

I'm very familiar with sound editing on a PC only : \

Doesn't Mac already have something like iMusic or something? I've heard iMovie is pretty good. Would only assume they have something for audio too..
