Default Cool (but unnecessary) Home Automation/Networking

My new house is going to come with one of these boxes. Unfortunately, it will be more of a "blank slate" and primarily serves as a junction box for cable tv and cat5 for telephone.

My first thought was to install the cable modem in there (has a power outlet) and running a few network jacks in the house. Not sure what else I would do. Anyone have any ideas?

Wire up a decent multi zone receiver..

I've wired mine without the help of conduit..

Florida + attic = PITA...

Also... let me know when you figure out all of the functions.... opcorn:

That is a good idea. I wanted to wire surround sound in my 'great' room but there is no back wall which makes the dynamic complicated. Not sure I would want to dangle speakers from the ceiling.
