Can someone explain exactly what it is and what its advantages / disadvantages are? Thanks.

good for you - if you knew about google and how to use it, why the **** did you even bother asking? google is your answer to everything. i thought everybody knew that by now. in fact the first link that comes up when you search for "ssl protocol" is the actual definition/description of the protocol. how long did it take you to post this thread, then wait a while before finding what you were looking for "on your own"? took me a good five seconds.. google returned the search in 0.29 seconds :fawk:

btw, you spelled "genius" wrong :chuckles:
