I didn't say that it WOULDN'T Run, it just that it slows down and not the best performance.

I have 5 comps:
3.06GHZ P4,
1.2GHZ AMD Athlon,
800MHZ Duron,
400MHZ K6
& 1 laptop at home (2.4ghz P4)

I did have them all run XP, 98SE, WinMe, 2000 but the benchmarks came out differents.

1.2GHZ 266FSB (256MB SDRAM) runs best with Win98Se, Currently under Linux though

800MHZ duron + 400 MHZ k6 runs best with win2k with 128 MB SDRAM,

only my 2.4GHZ/522FSB laptop with 512MB DDR266 + the beast 3.06ghz/800FSB/1GB DDR33 are best optimized with XP- and

I did benchmark using 4 diff softwares: 2003 3d mark, 2001 3d mark SE, PC mark 2002, and Norton Performance Test.

corporate is just a diffrence in lisensing. Just make sure you don't use a cd key that starts with FCKsomething. MS knows about it and won't let you do updates.

Diffrence between home and pro? Not much. Pro has some extra programs and a little less "hi welcome to xp, your dumb so we'll do some things for you" type shit.

I'd make sure it's on at least a 500mhz cpu with 256mb ram or more. If it's on less, I'd use 2k. If it's less than a 300mhz and 64mb ram, run linux. 95/98/Me are just dead. Don't even bother, it's just a waste of time to run a version that's so old.

its FCKGW and there's a fix for that that takes about 20 seconds to run, depending on how fast you type

only difference is XP Pro can take group policies and has terminal services. It's for use within a 2000 domain.

Yes. We still use 2000 at HSN and dont plan on upgrading to XP except for a select few.
