If its been sitting for awhile, make sure the jets arent gummed up. They may look clean, but blow them out with compressed air 1st. Make sure the air filter is clean, and a good battery. You are getting spark right?

is this sound advice?
APulda: now its coming back to me, hahaha
APulda: empty your tank, put some gravel with low dust in it, and a little bit of gas and shake it like crazy
APulda: repeat a few times till shit stops coming out, and then rinse with gasoline.
APulda: then check your inline fuel filter, and if you don't have one go to a bike shop and get one.
APulda: then, do the carb dissasembly thing and give it all a good soak/scrub, except for gaskets of course, check to make sure the float isn't sticking, and then pull the needles and seats and jets, make sure the needle moves freely etc.....
APulda: thats gonna be the little screw thing on the inside of the carb if I remember correctly
