Default Anybody still work on they're cars....v. 234

The EJ had been sitting for about a year in the driveway. My buddy blew up his WRX and needed a car to drive while his is down for the rebuild. About a day into him borrowing it, the turbo blew....sooooo I decided to swap over to my other turbo setup that I have had laying around for a while. I was lazy and finally decided to do it. Requiring me to make a new downpipe from scratch and re-do all my IC piping...Also decided to take the HF mani and make it externally wastegated...I hadn't welded cast metal in a long time so I was pretty happy how it turned out

I don't do anything right now. But I would like to get back into it again after I graduate and have some money. Not sure if I want to mod a new car, older car, or classic car.

also, I would like to edit the title to "Their" not "There" as it doesn't make grammatical sense.

^lol

I have gone past the phase where I get work done on my daily driver. number of cars on the roads increase, space on the road becomes less, can get frustrating to invest all that money into these cars and not be able to use it. i would maybe get a filter or small stuff like that, but nothing big

I have been buying cars which are not daily drivers and getting work done on them. So far I have a Jeep which if for my off roading purposes, now planning on getting a 1.3 l Suzuki done up for track purposes.

havent stopped playing with mine. it's been in the body shop almost a month now waiting for paint after some jackasses keyed the shit out of it.

on the side i'm putting together a new motor for it as the current one has a lot of miles and i suspect is holding me back quite a few hp. first purchase for that project:

99mm crank. i bought a bare k24 block as well but that asshole keeps jerking me around and still hasnt sent it to me after almost a month so i'm on the hunt for another one. also have a stockpile of parts just sitting in my room waiting to be thrown in.

just about to put in some maintenance work on the Bimmer.. I had it parked for over a month just because I was driving the navigator daily. Tried to fire it up and the battery was done. Replaced with an AGM and drove it for for a few hours and I developed a misfire due to a dead coil pack.

So swapped out the coil pack and all 6 plugs and the the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals while I was at it.

I'll probably pull the car into the garage tomorrow to start changing the following:
- Both Front Lower Control Arm Bushings
- Steering linkage coupler
- Oil filter housing gasket
- CCV (oil separator) and 3 vent hoses
- Serpentine drive and AC accessory belt
- Thermostat and housing
- Waterpump
- Driver side window regulator

Should be it for now. LOL fucking bimmer.

I haven't in a while now, mostly due to money and life in general sucking ass.

My time and energy has been spent on designing and brewing beer and working on bicycles....I am such a hipster h:

Should have told me, I have a spare k24 crank collecting dust. I have a couple k20z blocks and possibly a k24a2 block as well. I can check my parents garage if interested.
