Is oriental to asians as colored is to black people or something? As in an old term for them that makes them pissed off when white people say it.

i think some people refer to oriental as OBJECTS coming from countries from the Orient....rather than its people. :dunno:

 

if you want to get technical about it..

oriental = import/export goods.. besides the illegally smuggled asians here, asian people are not trade goods..

asian = ethnicity.


honestly, i didn't realize the difference myself until my girlfriend told me :dunno: :slap:

 

The only object I ever heard called Oriental was a rug.

youre not white, so you wouldnt...just like if someone called you a ****** i wouldnt see a problem with it but you would.
