Nothing weird about it at all. Shutting yourself out from all distractions of everyday life to spend time with yourself.. just thinking and reflecting.. meditating in a sense. Very healthy, in fact.

I agree.

It's like no one reads anymore. It's all TV and video games.

Doesn't take long to get a skill in a particular video game because they are designed to be quickly rewarding whereas sports take longer to establish skill. Wanna play baseball? Sure, let's play it on PS2. :happysad:

Thanks Janna

Like if I am hanging out at a friends place and they are whoring it up online or whatever I can be happy just sitting on their bed or couch whatever... I think thats why its weird. They tell me to turn on the TV or do SOMETHING...

I think we do live in a 30 second (or less) society. I was reeading last semester, a writer described it as a "3 second" society I believe because if you can't get your point across in 3 seconds or less than you've lost your listener/viewer. This was in reference specifically to the debate on whether some photographs were art or pornography. It was easy to show a picture of a nude and say it's pornography but it takes longer to explain the difference between art and pornography and it forces people to think about what art actually is and that just hurts our brains.
