Default Fireplace Inserts

Anyone here heat their house entirely using an insert/stove?

I am considering purchasing an insert for my fireplace. There will be more of an incentive if/when natural gas prices go up.

Whats a good brand?

Fuckers are expensive h:

My uncle did that, it was heavy as balls but it radiates heat like a mofo.

I want to get one for our HUGE fireplace in on the lower level but they are $$$$$. My parents have an insert at their house and my dad keeps the house a toasty 68 degrees through the winter burning in the fireplace. I don't think their gas bill goes up at all in the winter, but he does burn a shit ton of wood.

http://www.lennoxhearthproducts.com/products/inserts/ sold these at the brick yard. Any heating/a.c. guy can give you more answers. And if you plan on buying one that will last any amount of time then get the checkbook ready.
