Yea I'm keeping carpet upstairs. I don't plan on living here more than 5 years (been here over a year now) but I'm sure whoever buys it will enjoy the Pergo. We went with a dark color so it looks great downstairs.

I went with a laminate. :gives: Still looks good to me. If I were staying in this house for another 10 years I would've gone with and engineered, but not hardwood.

It would be hard to do with all the waiting time involved in delivery routes. Trust me on this one.

Being a realtor, I get a lot of people's reaction to pergo/engineered/real wood...

At least around here, the consensus is that any of these are a step up from carpet. If you're just trying to make the place look presentable, though, carpet is the most cost-effective way.

I personally think pergo looks pretty cheap and crappy... I really dislike the 3 fake boards to one board look... when the light hits it and you can see the joints, it just looks like crap. Also, if you have water damage, its pretty much fawked... peels up, and separates. With wood, you can just resurface it and you're set. When its so much more affordable than real hardwood, though, its easy to see why people choose it. When the time comes, I'll just make my brother pitch on the floors h:

with having chops, I think the pergo works well. I helped my dad install brazilian cherry, it looks great, but can scratch easily. I've helped my cousin restain a client's floors and it was not fun.

another thing about hardwood is that you have to worry about water and sunlight.

My Pergo is all individual pieces, none of that "3 piece stuff". And I'm glad I went with it. It's durable as hell and has a nice warranty. Spaced properly and installed properly, I don't have to worry about warping or anything.
